Effects on Attachment Promotion between Adolescents and their Parents by Utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy with Family Playing

Abstract
This research is a multiple-case study which identifies the effect of emotionally focused therapy by utilizing family playing to promote attachment between adolescents and parents. With the help Family parents and adolescents in ages 14 to 19 that have experienced attachment injury total of five families were selected from applicants Total of eight sessions were progressed from with each session lasting 90 to 120 minutes. The changes in the attachment between adolescents and parents, in family`s emotions, and after emotionally focused therapy using family playing were analyzed through Colazzi method. The post examination used structured questionnaires with Wilcoxon`s Signed-Ranked Test to compare and analyze the changes that occurred before and after the session.
The result of this study is as following: First, The changes in attachment of adolescents were categorized into understanding about parents, feeling changes in parents, feeling comfortable approaching to parents, and inclination to be with parents. The changes of attachments in parents were categorized into having lack of introspection of themselves, feeling delighted about improvement of their children, accepting their children wholeheartedly, and feeling excitement about the future.
Second, The change of emotions of adolescents and parents categorised as inherent emotional experiences and extension of emotional experiences. The changes of adolescents` emotions were subcategorized into feeling refreshed when expressing emotions, expressing emotional affection to parents, feeling grateful toward their parents, becoming relaxed while being accepted by parents and gain self-confidence. The changes of parents` emotions were subcategorized into feeling sorry to their children, expressing emotional affection to children, gratifying to the changes of children, expressing love to their children when conflicts were reduced, and feeling precious about their family.
Third, The improvements in adolescent`s ability to adapt were categorized into stabilization of peer relationships, improvement of adolescents` sympathy with others, and formation of adolescents` motivation to achieve goals.
